Who is Sage Whitfield?
Sage Whitfield is the editorial pen name of How To Grow Microgreens, a small independent publisher writing for people who grow greens at home. Sage is not one person with a résumé: the name lets the site speak with one consistent voice, and we would rather say so plainly than invent a biography.
What we publish
Home-scale microgreens guides: how to grow your first tray, and a seeding chart for each variety with seed per tray, soak time, blackout days and days to harvest. Where a university extension or USDA source states the nutrient content of a variety, we show it per 100 g with the study named. We also cover how to harvest, keep and eat microgreens, and how to choose seeds, trays and lights.
How we write
We state what our sources state. Figures such as seed amounts and days to harvest are ranges where sources differ, and each page lists its sources. We describe nutrient amounts as published measurements and make no medical or health claims. Read the full editorial policy.
Nobody pays to appear in or change a guide.
